Lions and Tigers and Turkeys?? ... oh my!

Last weekend was our Fathers and Sons outing. Brad decided to skip our ward's outing and take an extended outing with Kolten and my brother and his son and go turkey hunting. They left Thursday the 1st and got home Saturday night. They had a fun?? time... after all was said and done! Just before they got to where they were camping, the truck broke down and they had to leave it at a mechanic's garage and get a ride to where they were camping. Bummer! So they were stuck at camp and couldn't hunt or fish that afternoon/evening like they had planned. Then they had to wait Friday morning for the truck to get fixed before they could head out. So the first hours of the trip were not as fun as they had hoped! And then it didn't get much better! The turkey hunt was unsuccessful, but they did get to see some, but not any they could shoot. They saw a bald eagle which Kolten thought was really cool! They did some fishing in the river and at the lake, but only caught a few. So it wasn't the BEST fishing/hunting trip, but they had fun except that Brad missed me and Morgan terribly!! Maybe next time they will just go with our ward to the Fathers and Sons outing!
I went on a field trip to the zoo with Morgan's class while Brad and Kolten were gone on Friday. Morgan was so excited to go and talked about it for days and days before. We had a nice time and enjoyed seeing the animals. My favorites were the giraffes (I just love those funny long necked creatures!), sea otters and the white peacock - it was really pretty. Morgan really liked everything, but her favorites were the elephants and the sea otters, too. The sea otters were really cute (as far as sea otters go) and were very entertaining, swimming around and doing fancy little tricks for us. It was a fun zoo trip and all the class had a good time! I am so glad that I got to go with Morgan. Her teacher even payed for all the parents and kids that went - nice added bonus to the day!
