ummm, I'd have to say May 24th. (Okay, so that isn't the exact line,but can you still name the movie!) It wasn't April, but we did still need a light jacket for some of the day. It was however, the perfect day to be at the zoo. It was overcast and a little cool at times, but mostly just a really nice day. We couldn't have asked for better weather for May. We were going to leave after school was out and go camping with some family, but then the storm blew in and ... let's just say we weren't prepared for a snow camp!! So we opted to stay home and take a day and go to the zoo instead. It was a great day and we all had a really good time. We hadn't been to the Phoenix Zoo for a few years, and Morgan didn't remember it at all and Kolten barely did. We hadn't been there since they added the carousel and that was of course the first thing Morgan wanted to do, so we all jumped on an "endangered" animal and went around in circles till Brad and I were very ready to get off! We walked, and walked, and walked, and walked ... we didn't really sing or push a handcart or anything, but we did do a lot of walking. When Morgan didn't think she could walk any more, we took a ride on the tram/train and had a nice sitting tour of the zoo. We had so much fun and spent the whole afternoon there - we stayed until it was closed. So many cool animals - I don't know how we could even pick our favorites. We all enjoyed the "common squirrel monkeys" in their open habitat - we were really close to some of them. They are really cute for being called something like a vermin squirrel! (Yes, I am still a little upset about my garden!:))
We got to "feed" the elephants - Morgan and Kolten threw carrots in to them. We saw the big horned sheep, reptiles innumerable, giraffes, zebras, Watusi(sp?) cows and so much more. Kolten really liked the reptiles, especially the Rhinoceros Iguana. (He has even researched it online since then - he's a smarty!) Morgan liked the pronghorns, bald eagle, Afican Elephants, and so much more! Oh the meerkats were pretty cute, too, they kept us entertained for a while. Of course they are little, and little things (people, puppies, kittens, etc. tend to be cuter than bigger, grown-up things!!) Overall, we gave the day 2 THUMBS UP!!! So much fun, we will have to not wait as long to go back again! It is well worth the money, and if you can get a perfect weather day like we had (which will probably not occur again until November!) then even better!!

The correct line IS "I'd have to say April 25th. It's not too hot, not too cold...all you need is a light jacket." :o) Sounds like you had fun! I've still never been to the zoo and I probably won't go until it cools down if I do go! And maybe we'll have to come swimming sometime--haha! You weren't talking about keeping Jackie out now were you?? Hope you're enjoying your summer
