Another episode of "Our Wild Kingdom..."

Yes this is a weekly episode/occurence at our house! The lastest were chickens, a turtle and horny toads. The chickens were free roaming the other night, and before you know it Morgan was catching them. Of course then Kolten followed (because he didn't want Morgan having all the fun!) and they both wanted pictures with their favorites. What fun!!:)

Then Brad found a turtle at a jobsite and decided to bring it home for a couple of days before he "re-located" it back to it's home. So Kolten and Morgan had a great afternoon with "Speedy". This turtle apparently isn't aware of the "slow as a turtle" rap that most turtles get. He was fast! It was hilarious watching it "run" whenever it got the chance - he could've beat me in a race!! Of course he may just be savvy in the animal kingdom and have heard of Kolten and Morgan before. Maybe the other turtles and creatures have given him a "heads up" and warned them of these children!!:) He definitely looked like he was trying to "make a break for it!"
Last but not least, Kolten was the LUCKY 4th grader that got to bring home a big horny toad and 2 baby horny toads from school yesterday-on the bus- in an open container. What happened to the bus rule of no live animals in open containers allowed on the bus?? I guess that rule only applies if you are taking the animals to school (where they obviously don't want them) and not if the child is bringing the animals home for unsuspecting parents to deal with! Hmmm... Well it has been a horny-toad-filled-Saturday - hours of cheap entertainment from those little guys!!:) And I have 2 very happy children so what's a mom to do?:)
